This video outlines the main steps in the admission, surgery and post-operative process, and will give you an idea of what you can expect:

• Review of your pre-operative forms and paper work with the admissions nurse to confirm any allergies, medications or medical conditions

• Pre-operative recording of weight, height and blood pressure

• Removing of valuables and changing into hospital gown

• Meeting your anaesthetist and surgeon

• Surgical procedure

• Waking up in Recovery and transfer to the discharge lounge where a light meal will be provided

• Instruction on post-operative wound care, post-operative precautions and exercise from your nurse and physiotherapist
